Will the World End in 2012? Is it Armageddon or Apocalypse?

Some people have been proclaiming on the web & news that the world could possibly end in the year 2012. Why are they saying this? Well for several reasons. Apparently the Mayans (an ancient civilization that was highly advanced) made an extensive calendar. The calendar stops at the year 2012. Why? Who knows. Also, there are claims that the universe will have some very rare alignments during this year.

Some people are claiming that the Mayans (known for their advanced astronomy), must have seen something in the universe or stars that indicated the world would end. Perhaps it could be the end of the world, or the great Armageddon or apocalypse?

So Does the Bible Mention Anything About the Year 2012?

The Bible talks about the end of time, but does not give an exact year. In fact, the last chapter in the King James Version of the Holy Bible deals with the end of the world. In Revelation, we are given a glimpse into some of the huge things that take place. God allows satan & the antichrist to roam earth, there are great plagues, famines, wars, and more. Eventually, this Earth as we know it is destroyed, and a new Heaven & a new Earth are created for us to dwell with Christ for eternity.

But what about this 2012? Could the world really end in the year 2012? Well, it is definitely possible. But rest assured, the Bible tells us repeatedly that not even the angels in Heaven know the exact time of the end. Only the Father who is in Heaven. So the Mayans did not likely have any inside information that the angels would not have known.

Even so, maybe they did have the year correct. After all, maybe they didn’t know they exact time, but a general year?

Even Worse than 2012: What if the World Ends Before You Stop Reading This?

People often get caught up in end time prophecy, and psychic predictions. But forget about 2012 or any other prediction. What if the world ends before you stop reading this? It’s possible! So don’t get wrapped up in the end times predictions. Instead, live your life to the fullest. Be at peace with God, and ready to stand in front of Him for judgement at any time.

Sometimes I like to imagine that I am standing before Almighty God. I imagine that I am getting judged. If I feel like I have sins that I have committed & I may not pass judgement, then that tells me that I need to repent, and change my ways. I want my time of judgement before God to be a wonderful moment of joy. Not terrible misery & sadness. I do this because I know I may die at any time. Only God knows when, where, & how I will die. And only God knows when the end will come.

For the Bible clearly indicates, that just as in the times of Noah people were laughing, celebrating, and even marrying right before the world flood, so will people be before the end of the world. People will not realize the world will end. Christ will come as a thief in the night comes. You won’t have any idea it is coming. That is why you must be prepared NOW. It could happen at any time, or you could have some freak accident & die at any time.

Life is fickle, and everyone will have their appointed time to die. Are you prepared for death? Do you feel you could stand God’s Holy judgement?

What Created God? What is God Made of?

A difficult question that people sometimes struggle with is this: What created God? If everything has a beginning or creator, then how did God come into existence? Who created Him?

I think the most difficult part of this question is the fact that it is somewhat un-logical. God created everything, and He is the only thing that was not created by something. Before the universe ever came to be, there was God. Asking what created God, is kind of like asking something like, “Why is that red car green?” Or “What color is an inch?” These questions make no sense because they are illogical. They are asking something that doesn’t make any sense. If the car is red, it isn’t green. And measurements don’t have colors. The same is true because God wasn’t ever created.

It all comes down to this simple fact: The universe as we know it didn’t always exist. God created the universe, and He created it using Matter & Energy. He created it within the context of time. So time, energy, matter, and everything else is a created thing. Every single atom, molecule, and particle was created by God.

So God was never created, and He is not bound by these constraints of time, matter, energy, or anything else. God simply –IS. He always has been, and always will be. He wasn’t created, nor will he ever -not- exist. That is pretty powerful stuff, and mind boggling-huh? But this also raises another interesting question:

So What is God made of?

Since all matter, time, and energy had a beginning, we can probably make the assumption that God is not made of Matter. He simply IS. The Bible describes God as a spirit. Of course, God controls all matter, and He can take the form of matter (as He has done in the past), and manipulate it in any way He wants. However, God is not bound by matter, time, or space-like we humans & everything else in the universe is. The Bible also gives God characteristics, emotions, feelings, thoughts, and more.

We don’t know exactly what God is made of, or what He looks like. Maybe someday we will find the answers to these tough questions.
