Why Do Some Christians or Religious People Hate Jews?

Someone recently asked why so many people seem to dislike, or even hate the Jews. They stated that many times they witness people being rude, or insulting people just because of their Jewish faith.  First, let me say that not everyone hates people of the Jewish faith. I certainly LOVE people of the Jewish faith!

Here was my response to the question:

I totally agree with you. People should be respectful of all beliefs and all groups of people. I love every group of people, whether you are an atheist, jew, muslim, hindu, black, white, red, green, whatever. We are all humans, and we should all love everyone, even if we don’t agree with everything. I consider myself a christian (although I don’t go to church or belong to any denomination). But I love talking to people of other faiths, because I feel it gives me a chance to learn more about the world. I also practice many traditions of the Jewish faith.

I personally believe in God, and also believe in the Bible and Jesus as the messiah. But it also frustrates me when people get on here and say, “your gonna go to hell if you don’t believe in Jesus this second.”

I think they are trying to genuinly do something positive, but it is coming off as very negative. That is not the way Jesus would have done it. He would not have gone around saying, “believe in me right now or die.” He never really did that in that way. He went around saying you are forgiven for your sins. God loves you. Pray, seek truth, seek the light, repent etc. Not, hey you over there, pray to me right now and accept me as your savior or burn in hell.

I feel sorry for anyone that is mocked, ridiculed, or scorned for their belief in God, or lack of a belief in God. That is the same type of hate that leads to such tragedies such as racial discrimination, and horrible things such as the holocaust.

I wish we could all respect and love one another, and politely talk about our own personal beliefs, and why we believe them, without resorting to rudeness or inappropriate remarks. I agree with you 100%. It shows that you are a great person that you have respect for all people and all beliefs, and that it frustrates you to see one group of people being picked on (or any group of people).

Personally, I know Jews have some different beliefs about God, Jesus, etc. But I love to talk about these things with Jewish people. It helps me understand different viewpoints. I totally respect their beliefs, even if they differ from my own. I also really like a lot of Jewish traditions, and they are interesting to me as well. I consider myself a guy that is just interested in finding out as much as I can about the world. I am not here to judge people, or make fun of them if they don’t believe exactly what I believe. I am here to love people.
