Why Does God Let His Children or Innocent People Suffer?

God lets us suffer, because He knows it is only temporary. In the grand scheme of all of eternity, this life is like not even a second. It is a puff of vapor that quickly disappears.

If a kid dies of cancer, it seems so sad and unfair. It seems they were robbed of a fair life. But if what God says is true, and He really resurrects us, and we really do have all eternity to spend, then that really doesn’t make it so sad when you see that this person gets the same reward and eternal happiness as people that lived 100 years.

Also, keep in mind that even though God let’s us suffer, it does NOT mean He doesn’t love us and suffer with us. Let me give you an example:

If you ever have a child, you already know before you have it that it will one day die (since we humans all die). But you still have it, right? Because you want to share in love and fellowship with your child. God loves us in the same way. He knows we will have troubles, sadness, and even death. But He is always there, and will take care of us all in the end.

Do People Still Talk in Tongues Today, Or Only During the Time of Apostles?

Personally I don’t believe it happens anymore. I don’t mean any offense to those that practice it or still believe it.

I believe it COULD happen if necessary, and it was God’s will. But I have seen on TV and been to a church before where people blabble a bunch of ridiculous mumbo jumbo, and I think it is just a lot of excitement and they get caught up in the moment.

In the NT when then talk in tongues, I believe it was so people of other languages could interpret it mostly. We have to remember that at this time, Jesus had ascended to Heaven. The apostles and new church were small in numbers, and yet it was their duty to reach out to all nations and all tongues.

I think at these times, God supernaturally did allow them to talk in various languages, etc. This was very important so that they may reach out to other nations and other languages. But now we have translators (people that can translate languages, as well as digital software and programs that can do this). So I don’t see a need for God to send us a supernatural “Tongue” talking ability.

This (like most things on this site), is just my opinion in the way I interpret things.
