It always annoys me when I hear atheists accuse of creationists of “Lying for Jesus.” I’ve heard many atheists use this, and more recently, I’ve actually been emailing a guy who is an Old Earth creationists (and believes in evolution), and he was accusing young earth creationists of “Lying for Jesus.” It was pretty obvious he’s been keeping company with atheists.
Because I got tired of hearing this remark, and because I was also dissatisfied with Christian responses to this, I’ve coined a new phrase: “Lying for Monkeys.” So please feel free to use this phrase and make it a huge hit in debates, because I would love to hear a creationist pull this phrase out the next time “lying for Jesus” comes out, especially since evolutionists have such a dogmatic, snappy attitude when you suggest they aren’t monkey relatives.
Evolution & Atheism Has Been Dishonest & Inaccurate Historically
While young earth creationism has certainly had its share of inaccuracies (Paluxy tracks being one), I think evolution is the clear king of hoaxes. It has plenty of its own bad arguments, historically speaking.
Let us never forget the countless list of hoax/disproved fossils that were promoted long after they were disproven (piltdown man, etc.), the host of bad arguments (vestigial organs which were later proved highly functioning such as the appendix), and more. It is historically true that even though these arguments were disproved, they continued to be spread for years after the fact.
In fact, I was reflecting on my blog, and I remembered when the big Darwinius Masillae (Ida) Fossil was making the rounds in the media as “THE” missing link. I wrote my post in 2009, and I confidently predicted it would soon be brushed off as either a full monkey or a full human. As predicted, this is exactly what happened (see one source here). In that case, it wasn’t just lying for monkeys, it was “lying for lemurs.”
Conclusion: Atheists & Evolutionists Need to Stop “Lying for Monkeys”
I’ve never seen a person want to be a monkey so badly as some atheists and evolutionists do. They will literally fight to the death, make endless sacrifices, and more, just so they can maintain their glory that their past ancestors were primates (and they themselves are nothing more than glorified, highly evolved primates). Even if it means holding on to terrible arguments, claiming mere lemurs are missing links, and more.
They write books on it, they give presentations, they donate to help find more evidence to assert this fact, and so forth. I’ll never understand it. They need to stop making a monkey of themselves. They are getting ape-crazy.
